Oh What Fun!

December is one busy month for Jefferson! There are so many things to see and do, you will not want to miss out! Here is a snapshot of some of the fun things you and your family can participate in this holiday season!

December 1st

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, we can’t wait to see you shine so brightly! Come up to the Thomas Jefferson Gardens located at 201 E Lincoln Way on Thursday, December 1st at 5:30pm to enjoy the lighting ceremony. Don’t miss seeing their very special guest, Santa while you are there!

December 2nd & 3rd

Make your way downtown to the Elk’s Lodge December 2nd & 3rd for the Winter Festival: Celebration of Trees! Enjoy seeing some amazing trees, children’s crafts, live music, hayrides around the square, Santa & Mrs. Claus, and for the first time an Adult Time (21+)!

December 3rd

Stop by the Greene County Community Center for a morning of fun with Santa Claus! Hy-Vee will be sponsoring a breakfast buffet and cookie decorating station! Get your yearly photo with Santa from Meythaler Photography! Kids eat free, adults will have a buffet fee. Register at the Rec Center or online at gccc.activityreg.com

 
 

December 3rd

Saturday will hold the St. Joseph’s Annual Cookie Parade from 9am-Noon. Enjoy cookies, pick your prize drawings, coffee, rolls, and Indian tacos!

 
 

December 3rd

Welcome in the holidays with a tour of 4 beautifully decorated Jefferson homes! Your $10 tour ticket will also include refreshments at the Welcome Center. Purchase tickets from Garden Club members or at The Printer’s Box, Heartland Bank, Home State Bank, or People’s Bank.

December 8th

Bid on trees, wreaths and gorgeous holiday décor decorated by community members and Greene County Medical Center employees at the Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary Holiday of Lights.

 
 

Join the Greene County Medical Center Foundation this year in their annual Tree of Life ceremony, celebrating the lives of those we have loved and lost. The event will be held in person in the Medical Center lobby on December 8th, 2022 at 1 PM, along with a dessert reception. Ornaments can be purchased in remembrance, or honor of a loved one for $25 (dessert tickets included) through December 1. The loved one’s name will be attached to a special ornament and placed on our Tree of Life.

 
 

December 21st

Join the Greene County Community Center and Fudges’s Flowers and Gifts in a Grinch Tree Class! Make a Grinch tree, enjoy Grinchy snacks, and do some Grinchmas table activities! Register at the community center or online at gccc.activityreg.com

 
 

December 30th & 31st

History Boy Theatre presents Five Course Love & A Five Course Meal Dec. 30th & 31st at 6pm. This will be a very entertaining show you won’t want to miss seeing! Additional production dates are Jan. 1st at 1pm and Jan. 6th & 7th at 6pm.
