Awards & Recognition

Jefferson’s progress hasn’t gone unnoticed. Over the years, our community, organizations, volunteers, and partners have been recognized at the state and national level for the work happening in downtown revitalization, economic development, placemaking, and community engagement. These awards reflect the time, care, and collaboration it takes to move Jefferson forward, and the people who continue to show up and make it happen.

Main Street Iowa Awards &
Iowa Tourism Awards

Being a Great American Main Street Award winner is one of the highest honors a Main Street community can receive. It recognizes long-term impact, not just individual projects. Winning this award shows that Jefferson’s progress is intentional, sustainable, and community-driven, built through collaboration between volunteers, businesses, local leaders, and partners. It also puts Jefferson on the national stage as a model for what small-town revitalization can look like.
