NEW! Buskerfest brings the streets of downtown Jefferson to life with music, magic, art, and live performances around every corner. Explore downtown as a variety of street performers entertain throughout the day. Local shops, restaurants, and public spaces become part of the experience, creating a fun atmosphere for visitors of all ages. This event will be held on the plaza area with attendees asked to bring a lawn chair to sit in the shade. At 2 PM, the Bell Tower Community Foundation will serve refreshments - Better Than Bell Tower cake slices with coffee & water until they are gone.

At 2:30 PM, the program will begin with Don Van Gilder sharing a few stories of the Tower being built in 1966, followed by the introduction of a new branding for the Mahanay Bell Tower. A special Tower Tunes Live Concert will feature four local Mahanay Maestros playing several selections each from the original 1966 dedication ceremony. The genres include religious played by Rita Rasmussen, folk tunes played by Rick Morain, classical played by Rhena Lane, and patriotic played by Danille Curtis. It is anticipated that the program will last one hour.

Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with fellow community members and learning more about the many programs, resources, and services available through the library. From events and activities to digital resources and community spaces, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at all the ways the library serves Jefferson and Greene County. This is a great opportunity to discover something new and see what's happening at your local library.

Join us for Spook the Loop, as local businesses line the downtown square to hand out candy and treats to costumed kids and families. It’s a fun and festive way to celebrate Halloween in the heart of town!
