Join us for our CyHawk Tailgate, an evening all about bringing the community together for fun, connection, and a little friendly rivalry. Here’s what you can expect:

FOOD-EATING CONTEST
It’s Cyclones vs. Hawkeyes in a team relay-style food-eating competition! 💥 Two teams will go head-to-head: one representing Cyclone fans and the other for Hawkeye fans. The competition will be relay-style, with each person eating one at a time. Once someone finishes their food or drink item, the next teammate takes over. No hands allowed, just like we did at the RVTV event. 😄
BEST DRESSED BABY/TODDLER
Show off your little one's game day spirit! Dress your baby or toddler in their best Iowa, Iowa State, or CyHawk-themed outfit. Costumes, team colors, and creative game day attire are encouraged! 🏈❤️💛🖤💛
Contestants will gather near the stage prior to the contest and will be introduced together during judging. The Best Dressed Baby/Toddler Contest will begin at 5:30, or shortly after the food-eating competition, with winners announced immediately following. Judging will be based on creativity, team spirit, and overall presentation. 🏈👶🏆
COLLEGE GAME DAY SIGN
Show off your team spirit and join the fun during Jefferson's CyHawk Tailgate! Businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to create a College Game Day-style sign to display on the Greene County Courthouse lawn during the event. Participation is free, but registration is required by September 1 so we can prepare enough sign boards.
KID’S TALENT SHOW
Show off your talent at the CyHawk Tailgate Kid's Talent Show! Whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, tell jokes, perform magic, or have another unique talent, we'd love to see you on stage!
The talent show will take place Thursday, September 10, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on the Plaza Stage in downtown Jefferson. Please complete the registration form below. A Jefferson Matters team member will contact you with additional details before the event.
