The Bell Tower Festival parade is a highlight of the weekend, bringing the community together along a route that connects key parts of Jefferson. Beginning at the new middle school, the parade travels down Chestnut Street, continues along East Lincoln Way, and ends at the fairgrounds. Along the route, spectators line the streets to take in floats, music, and groups that represent the spirit of the community. It is a moment that draws visitors into town and creates a shared experience for all ages. Arriving early allows time to find a spot and settle in for one of the festival’s most anticipated traditions.

The Tower of Fame recognizes individuals who have brought distinction to Greene County through professional or civic achievements at the state, national, or international level. This recognition highlights the lasting connection between these individuals and the community they have called home. It serves as a way to share stories of impact and inspire continued involvement across Jefferson and the surrounding area.

Nominations are open to the public and can be submitted using a printed form available at the Welcome Center at Thomas Jefferson Gardens or by requesting a digital copy. Completed forms can be emailed to info@jeffersonmatters.org or mailed to Jefferson Matters at 201 E. Lincoln Way, Jefferson, IA 50129.
