6 Reasons to Bowl for Jefferson Matters 🎳
We know… bowling might not be up everyone’s alley (hehe). And if your first thought was, “yeah… but I’m not a great bowler,” this night isn’t about perfect scores or strikes every frame! It’s about showing up, having fun with your people, and supporting something bigger right here in Jefferson.
We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 18 from 7–9 pm at Spare Time Lanes with a team of 5 for just $50, with each bowler encouraged to raise at least $100 to help bring events to life, support local businesses, and continue building a vibrant downtown filled with art, energy, and connection.
Here’s what you’re helping make happen:
1. Support our many community events
When you sign up a team, you’re helping make events like BRAG, Cruisin’ to the Square, Winter Festival, shopping events, Porch Fest, and the CyHawk Tailgate possible. The kind of events where you run into friends, stay longer than you planned, and leave thinking, “that was such a good night.”
These events open for the community to enjoy, and they happen because of support like this.
2. Invest in art and culture
From the murals throughout downtown to public art that brings color and creativity to our streets, Jefferson continues to grow as a place full of character.
Your support helps keep that momentum going, adding more art, more experiences, and more reasons for people to explore and enjoy our community.
3. Help local businesses thrive + tourism efforts
Behind the scenes, Jefferson Matters is working to support local businesses through grant opportunities, resources, and connections.
When you sign up for this event, you’re helping strengthen the businesses that make our downtown unique, the places you grab coffee, shop, and meet up with friends.
4. Support a local business (Spare Time Lanes!)
You’re also showing some love to our local bowling alley, which feels like a win-win. A fun night out for you, and support for a local business!
5. Spend time with friends (and maybe coworkers?!)
Let’s be honest… most of us are not joining this for our professional bowling careers. 😅
