This month’s Volunteer Spotlight recognizes Deb Kucerak, who has spent the past decade giving her time and talents to Jefferson!

Deb’s involvement includes the Tower View Team, Design Team, P.E.O. Chapter CZ, Why Not Us, and more. As a former downtown business owner, Deb has continued to invest her time in the community, helping care for gardens, secure grant funding, support public art projects, improve downtown spaces, and lend a hand at events.

Tower View Team Chair Deb McGinn shared:

“Deb has been an invaluable asset to the Tower View Team. She is always willing to lend a hand, especially with our Party in the Alley events. She was also a member of the Imagination Alley subcommittee.

Deb has also played a key role in securing grants, writing successful applications to Paint Iowa and Keep Iowa Beautiful on behalf of the Tower View Team. These funds helped bring the first back-alley mural to life and supported improvements like fencing in Sally’s Alley.

Fortunately for both our organization and the city, Deb has a true talent for gardening. Alongside Tower View Team member Shelly Berger, she helps keep Sally’s Alley looking beautiful throughout the growing season. She also maintains a small garden near the post office, adding to the city’s charm.

Without dedicated individuals like Deb, Tower View Team would not be nearly as successful as it is today.”
